Domestic Off-Grid Systems
Using WA’s most abundant resource to power your off-grid home or residence.
Domestic Solar, Battery and Diesel hybrid power systems enable access to an infinite source of clean energy, right in your own home.
Statewide Power has over 21 years of experience delivering stand-alone power systems in Western Australia. We work with you to design and implement:
Whether you are building in an area where setting up a connection to the grid would be impractical, or you simply want to become independent of the power grid, installing a solar, battery and diesel hybrid power for your home is a great way to future-proof your energy consumption. We can even implement a mobile off-grid solar system, ideal for very remote properties or those needing quick solutions.
We’re powering WA's off-grid solar revolution.
Statewide Power provides exceptional quality, state-of-the-art, stand-alone systems for residential properties. Get in touch with us today to discuss how we can help you achieve a safer, more reliable source of power – for life.
What size system will you need to go off-grid?
That depends on your usage. On average, households in Australia will have a typical daily electricity consumption ranging between 12kWh and 16kWh. Some quick numbers for reference:
- At Perth’s latitude, a 1kW system can generate around 5kWh of energy. This is an averaged estimate; the actual number can differ day to day depending on sunshine hours.
- To cover your daily electricity consumption at the estimated rate, you should have at least a 10kWh system (24 solar panels approximately).
In our experience, most households will be suited to a 10kWh system at that rate. Statewide Power can work with you to implement a bespoke system if your energy needs are greater. For example:
- To suit larger households
- Powering farm buildings
- For full-scale agricultural, commercial or industrial applications
If you know your average energy consumption is greater than this, you will need to scale up your system to match. It’s best to do this from the start so you don’t have to essentially redo the system in a few years. Always go for a bigger off-grid system than you think you need, rather than going for something right on the line of your projected energy consumption.
Then there is battery capacity to consider. If you think you may need to store more power later, you should choose the right battery system and inverter from the start to avoid potential compatibility issues if (or when) you want to expand.
How much does a domestic, off-grid solar system cost?
A 10kWh system can cost anywhere between $45,000 and $70,000 for a ready-made off-grid system (generally speaking – this is not a firm price guide).

Go off-grid with a home solar system
Western Australia boasts the sunniest conditions in the country. This makes going solar a smart choice to reap the rewards of a sustainable, free resource; especially in the face of extreme weather conditions becoming more common, putting strain on the already unreliable electricity grids across the state.
You don’t need to rely on WA’s ageing power grid. You can have peace of mind, a safe, clean, reliable power source for your household, and save on electricity bills with a home solar system.
