The YANMAR YH170DSLS is a single-phase water-cooled diesel generator suited to homes, farms, and commercial premises that need reliable standby power with a step up in capacity. Producing 12.1 kVA standby from a YANMAR 4TNV88-3GGEH engine, it sits at a practical midpoint in the YH series — more capacity than the entry models, in the same proven silenced canopy package.
Running at 1500 rpm on a 4-pole water-cooled engine, the YH series operates at half the speed of 3000 rpm alternatives producing the same output frequency — reducing mechanical wear, heat generation, and fuel consumption, and contributing to a longer engine lifespan with lower maintenance costs over time.
Silenced Canopy for Quiet Operation
The YH170DSLS is housed in a total soundproof silent type enclosure, featuring a rain cap for outdoor use, all-door keyed locks for security, forklift pockets for easy positioning, and an easy-access fuel refill with keyed lid. An engine oil drain pump makes routine servicing straightforward. An emergency shutdown button is mounted inside and outside the canopy for immediate stop capability.
High-Capacity Fuel Tank Options
The standard unit supports high-capacity base fuel tank upgrades of 100L (for YH110–YH170 range), 190L, 320L, 500L, 600L, 750L, 1000L (for YH220–YH550 range) — ideal for extended run times on remote properties, off-grid installations, or applications where frequent refuelling is not practical.
Automatic Start/Stop Ready
An optional Automatic Start/Stop and mains failure system (ATS & AMF) is available, allowing the YH170DSLS to start automatically when mains power fails and shut down when supply is restored — enabling hands-off standby operation.
Brushless AVR for Clean, Stable Output
The brushless automatic voltage regulator (AVR) maintains consistent output voltage across all load conditions, protecting sensitive equipment and ensuring stable operation. The all-in-one digital controller provides clear display readouts for monitoring at a glance.
